How’se that? Alliterative and near rhyme.
Today marks the 4,000th km of our trip. We crossed the Ambassador bridge from the Canadian car city to the American motor city. We targeted a few beaches on lake Erie, looking in vain for that good Erie beach glass.
Yes, Lake Erie is a freshwater lake. However, its limestone bottom makes it etch glass in a similar fashion to salt water.
Speaking of Limestone, somewhere near Ottawa, we saw one of the oldest continuously running limestone mine. It had a conveyor that ran over the highway and down to the waterfront to fill ocean liners in the port.
Tonight we are in Cleveland without Internet so this post will upload sometime on Thursday. It also means I have no cloud access for pictures.
Tomorrow we visit beaches East of Cleveland that apparently have better glass.
