It was raining in Sudbury today so we did limited sightseeing.
We had to stop at the big nickel
As you can see, the weather was not great for pictures. The big nickel has an interesting history. On this site there was also a big penny. It turned green, became an eyesore and was eventually removed.
Then I showed Cindy where I used to live. The house looks the same but there are a few additions in the back yard.
Then we drove through downtown. The only major structure that is left from the big rebuild is the post office. I guess it was built to last.
Then we headed west to the SOO. See below the direction we took in the last 3 days. We have also reached the 7000km mark and still only in Ontario. The bright fall colours we saw in Southern Ontario have given way to softer yellows and greens.
Tomorrow we will attempt to drive to Thunder Bay. There is not much free wifi between here and there.
